APRICOT 2012

Getting around Delhi

New Delhi is a large city, and there are many transportation options.

Metro system

The New Delhi metro is the newest form of public transportation in the city, with the benefits of being fast, cheap, and environmentally friendly. There are currently three lines serving 59 stations around New Delhi.

For more details, visit the Delhi Metro home page.

Taxi

More comfortable than public transportation, taxis are easy to find. You may choose to call ahead or hail a cab in the street. Fares are determined by either meters or negotiation. If the meter is not an option, agree on a price before entering the cab.

Buses

There are over 2000 public buses serving New Delhi. They are very cheap, and have many available routes. For more information, visit the Delhi Transport Corporation. Delhi's buses run on CNG and are considered eco-friendly.
