APRICOT Membership

Membership of APRICOT is open to individuals and organisations who share APRICOT's aspirations and goals.

The future and stability of the APRICOT Summit is of prime importance to APRICOT, as it is the foremost opportunity for Internet Operators across the Asia Pacific region to meet. Members of APRICOT are expected to work actively across the region to promote the APRICOT organisation and APRICOT Summit, to promote the Internet without boundaries or barriers to participation, and further the goals of APRICOT.

APRICOT has 4 classes of membership. These are:

  1. Individual Member
  2. Non-Profit Organisation
  3. For-Profit Organisation
  4. Premium Organisation

All memberships are granted at the discretion of the APRICOT Board, to whom all applications for membership must be made. Applications for membership can be made at any time via the downloadable form. The form can either be sent to or given in person to any APRICOT Board Member. The APRICOT Board will grant new memberships during the period 1st April to 30th November in any calendar year - when granted, that membership is valid for every calender year the membership dues are paid.

If any member wishes to discontinue their membership, they should notify the APRICOT Board in writing. There is no refund if memberships are discontinued before the end of the calendar year.

Memberships whose dues are not paid by the renewal date are considered lapsed, and the member will have to apply to rejoin APRICOT.

Individual Membership

Individual Membership of APRICOT is open to network engineers and network operators who have an interest in the care, maintenance and on-going growth of the Internet in the Asia and Pacific regions.

Individual Members of APRICOT receive a 20% discount off their conference fee for the APRICOT Summit. Individual members can also stand for election to the APRICOT Board once they have been a member for one whole calendar year. For any matters requiring membership consent, Individual Members of APRICOT receive one vote.

Non-Profit Membership

Non-Profit Membership of APRICOT is open to registered non-profit organisations which have an interest in the care, maintenance and on-going growth of the Internet in the Asia and Pacific regions.

The Non-Profit Organisation has its logo placed on the APRICOT Partner page.

The nominated representative receives a 20% discount off their conference fee for the APRICOT Summit. The nominated representative of the Non-Profit Organisation can also stand for election to the APRICOT Board once they have been the nominated representative for one whole calendar year. For any matters requiring membership consent, Non-Profit Members of APRICOT receive one vote.

For-Profit Membership

For-Profit Membership of APRICOT is open to any commercial organisation which has an interest in the care, maintenance and on-going growth of the Internet in the Asia and Pacific regions.

The For-Profit Organisation has its logo placed on the APRICOT Partner page.

The nominated representative of the For-Profit Organisation receives a 20% discount off their conference fee for APRICOT. The nominated representative of the For-Profit Organisation can also stand for election to the APRICOT Board once they have been the nominated representative for one whole calendar year. For any matters requiring membership consent, For-Profit Members of APRICOT receive one vote.

Premium Membership

Premium Membership of APRICOT is open to any organisation which has an interest in the care, maintenance and on-going growth of the Internet in the Asia and Pacific regions.

The Premium Organisation has its logo placed prominently on the APRICOT Partner page and on the APRICOT Summit website alongside the APRICOT logo. The Premium Organisation is also mentioned in all publicity and marketing undertaking by APRICOT. All employees of the Premium Organisation receive a 20% discount off their conference fee for APRICOT. The nominated representative of the Premium Organisation can also stand for election to the APRICOT Board once they have been the nominated representative for one whole calendar year. For any matters requiring membership consent, Premium Members of APRICOT receive four votes.

Organisational Member Nominated Representatives

The nominated representative of an Organisational Member must be declared at the time the Organisation joins APRICOT. Any changes in the nominated representative must be notified by the membership renewal date. Changes made prior to the membership renewal take effect from the following calendar year, unless the existing nominated representative is no longer affiliated to or employed by the Organisation.

Subscription Rates and Renewals

Membership Subscription rates are as follows:

Membership renewals must be made by 31st December for the membership to be valid for the following calendar year and to allow the member to participate in APRICOT's Annual General Meeting. There are no exceptions.

As per APRICOT's by-laws, the AGM is held in January, or at some other time at the discretion of the APRICOT Board.
