The APRICOT Fellowship Committee
Not all people can afford to come to APRICOT. Each APRICOT Summit gives organisations the opportunity to sponsor the APRICOT Fellowship Programme to assist with supporting the accommodation and travel costs for around 25 APRICOT Fellows.
Fellowship Committee Structure
The APRICOT Fellowship Committee oversees the Fellowship programme; the Chair and Co-Chair of the Committee are appointed by the APNOG Board on recommendation of the APNOG Executive Director, with members including a representative from the two other regional NOGs in the APRICOT scope, SANOG and PacNOG, the nominated instructor from each MasterClass, one representative from each of the Fellowship Programme sponsors, and key representatives from the wider Internet industry with deep knowledge of the technical community across the Asia Pacific region.
The Committee is guided by the Chairs, and their main role is to review the applications for Fellowship from the Asia Pacific region. Applications for Fellowships open in early September, with a two-week period for applications. Following the end of the application period, the Fellowship Chairs, aided, by the APRICOT Secretariat, do an initial review of applications (to remove bogus, incomplete, or "auto" generated applications) before handing them to the Committee for their review. The Committee rates the applications, with the MasterClass instructors prioritising those who have applied for their respective MasterClasses. At the end of the review period, the Committee meets to draw up a short-list of 25 (or thereabouts) Fellows, before the successful candidates are informed.
